In July 1999 six pupils from the unit along with myself and three support assistants spent a week at the Stackpole Centre in Wales. As part of the week we catered for ourselves, as well as taking part in archery, painting, canoeing, sailing, abseiling and horse riding. We had a brilliant time at the centre which we would give 10 out of 10 to for comfort, facilities and resources. Below are some of the activities we took part in. (We have produced a coloured booklet of the week if you are interested in having a copy.)
Sonia and Andrew enjoying the hydrotherapy pool at the Stackpole Centre.
Here Clare is trying out one of the puzzles in the science exploratory centre we visited in Milford Haven.
Just like any group visiting the coast we had a super afternoon on Broad Haven Beach, building sand castles, rock pooling and learning how to fly kites.
If you look carefully you can see the catamaran we went sailing on moored to the right hand gang plank. |
